Reopening Plan & Worship Guidelines

On May 8th, Union County was upgraded to the yellow phase of Governor Wolf’s re-opening plan. On Friday June 12th, we will move into the green phase. Under the guidance of the CDC, state regulations, and recommendations received from the Methodist Bishop, our church will resume corporate/ in-person worship on Sunday, June 14, 2020.

However there are several changes that will be in place for the foreseeable future. These changes include:

  • We will hold two services - one at 8:45 am for the at risk/ vulnerable members and one at 10:30am for all others.

  • Sunday School and Youth Ministry will remain online at 9am.

  • The Nursery and Prayground will be closed until further notice.

  • Everyone attending will need to enter thru Parker Street doors. Ushers will be available to assist.

  • Bulletins will be available.

  • There will be a table as you enter with sanitizer for your own use.

  • We ask that you bring a mask with you. However it is optional but encouraged that you wear your mask coming and going, and while in the building.

  • In order to maintain 6’ social distancing, we ask that you do not sit close to anyone not living in your household.  Between each occupied pew there will be two pews that remained unoccupied.

  • We will have special music or a soloist only.  In lieu of a choir and corporate singing we ask that you participate in worship by listening to the soloist and/or pianist.

  • Communion will be observed. Prepackaged communion cups will be available.

  • Please observe signage as to which areas of the church is closed off.

  • We will clean the sanctuary after each service with an EPA-registered household disinfectant.

  • At every service we will be noting who is in attendance in case an attendee becomes infected.  We will then follow the CDC COVID-19 reporting guidelines and inform those who may have been exposed.

  • If you are not feeling well, please stay at home.

  • Offering baskets will be placed near the entrance/ exit.

I understand that some of you are at a higher risk and may not choose to worship with us in person. Please know that we will create a way for you to join us virtually. If you would like a copy of the sermon each week sent to you, please contact me.

God Bless,

Pastor Leah
