From The Pastor's Desk
Greetings Beaver Beloveds,
Easter has come and gone but the power that raised Jesus from the dead never goes away. As I enjoy this Eastertide, I am especially excited about the month of May because we now have upgraded access to the COVID-19 vaccine. The increase in vaccination accessibility has restored the confidence of many who have been unable to enjoy life outside of their homes. This new confidence creates the perfect breeding ground for new ministries and outreach opportunities that reflect our church's mission statement; Welcoming all in God's name, serving all in God's name.
As a church, we should be very proud of the progress that has been made over the past year. God has been so good to us! We have so many great things going on at Beaver in which I pray that you will find a way to stay connected. As you enjoy this month's newsletter, take a moment to thank God for all that he has done in our individual lives and as the body of Christ.
Peace to you,
Pastor Leah Williams
Happy One Year Anniversary!
Thank You Pastor Leah!
With our sincere appreciation for your dedicated service! You are a blessing to this congregation!
Our God has sent you to this place on May 1 2020, to lead us in the way and to teach us from His word.
We continually remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Thessalonians 1:3
We thank you for your ministry, your guidance and your care. His greatest blessings for your life
is our most humble prayer.
Reflect & Pray
In the midst of our busy daily lives please take a moment to pause, reflect and pray. …Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know (1 Timothy 2:1-3 MSG)

Ministries of Our Church
Youth From Mindy Moore
The youth are meeting in person in my backyard for the month of May. Everyone brings a picnic dinner and a lawn chair and we enjoy a socially distanced meal together, interview our guest and play a game.
May is the last month of our Bridging the Gap interviews. We have had so much fun getting to know different members from each of the three congregations. We are so blessed to have such amazing people in our community.
Thank you so much for helping us offset the cost of the new chairs in the new High School Youth Room. You all have raised $530 of the $700!! You rock! If you haven’t been up to the youth wing yet you should go take a peek. Just follow the stairs outside of the church office. You cannot miss the bright yellow hallway!
Thank you so much for all your support and love for United Youth Group.
For more information, please contact Mindy Moore at . Thank you Mindy!!!
Children's Sunday School
Sunday School for elementary age children is continuing via zoom for now at 9am on Sunday mornings.
We are making our way through the 66 books of the Bible! We have journeyed through the Old Testament and started a 12-week session on the New Testament the week after Easter. It is a great time to join us! Please reach out to Crystal at or Kirsten at . If your child would like to join us, and we will get a workbook delivered to you!
Thank you Crystal and Kirsten for leading God’s children!!!!
The Beacon Free Shop
The Beacon Free Shop will be open from 1-3:00pm on first Friday of each month. Can you help with staffing the Beacon Free Shop? Anyone that would like to donate hygiene products, laundry detergent, diapers, cleaning supplies or feminine products may bring them in during office hours.
Busy Beaver Daycare
As Busy Beaver heads into the month of May, we are very excited to welcome warmer weather! We are also very excited to welcome Pastor Leah in the month of May. She will be starting chapel time with our Preschoolers once a month!
May starts our preparation for summer. We are hoping to enjoy some summer fun this year that we missed out on last year, like our annual field trip to the Lewisburg Children's museum and picnics at the park!
We are always welcoming volunteers at Busy Beaver! If you are interested in rocking a baby or reading some books to the children, reach out to me at email@example.com.
We want to thank everyone that helped make our Marianna's fundraiser a huge success! Together we raised $1,087.00 for our infant room!
Kinderfolkers absolutely loved the Easter baskets that BMUMC put together; their eyes lit up as soon as they saw the baskets in their cubbies when they came into the classroom. Thank you to the church for sending so much Easter joy their way! We had our spring portraits taken earlier this month and can’t wait to see the final results. It was nice to see all of those sweet faces come out from behind their masks, even if it was for just a moment. Although Kinderfolk’s year comes to an end in a few weeks, we still have a lot of fun planned!

Ladies Small Group
Ladies Small Group will be meeting May 3rd to from 7:30pm to 9pm at Mindy Moore’s home to discuss Caste by Isabel Wilkerson.
Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents is an eye-opening story of people and history, and a reexamination of what lies under the surface of ordinary lives and of American life today.
Isabel Wilkerson gives us a masterful portrait of an unseen phenomenon in America as she explores, through an immersive, deeply researched narrative and stories about real people, how America today and throughout its history has been shaped by a hidden caste system, a rigid hierarchy of human rankings.
Looking forward to seeing you there,
Crystal Langdon and Mindy Moore

Have you been wondering what the mission envelopes that are in your offering envelopes go to? All that money goes to Mission organizations; local, national, and international. The Outreach Committee allocated $600 to each of the following organizations:
Alliance Fund for Union County - a fund set up by the Lewisburg Council of Churches to help Union County residents in need of help with paying rent, or with an electric bill, or some other emergency need.
CASA – Court Appointed Special Advocates in Union County for foster children.
Haven Ministry - Shelter located in Sunbury.
Heiter Center - The Donald Heiter center is located in downtown Lewisburg and sponsors many youth, adult, and family programs.
Jubilee House - Located in Nicaragua, their goal is to work in partnership with communities and cooperatives to facilitate empowerment. This enables them to find their own solutions to the problems they identify and connects them with resources to solve their problems.
Meals On Wheels - provides meals to senior citizens in Union County
Mission Central - is “Connecting God’s Resources with Human Need.” This is accomplished by following three areas of focus…Mission Outreach, Mission Education and Disaster Response. By partnering with over 180 different organizations, they provide resources to groups who are doing humanitarian work locally, across the country and around the world. Additionally, they stand ready to respond to all weather-related disasters or emergencies that occur.
Reconciling Ministries Network - Reconciling Ministries Network (RMN) equips and mobilizes United Methodists of all sexual orientations and gender identities to resist evil, injustice, and oppression in whatever forms they present themselves.
Union Snyder-County Habitat for Humanity - Helps in building homes in Union County
Thank you for your continued support to the Outreach Ministries for Beaver.
