In-Person Worship Service Suspended At Beaver Memorial UMC
Dear Beaver Memorial UMC Congregation and Friends,
Greetings in Christ! We pray you are blessed by God and strengthened in faith and hope in these trying days. With the spread of the Coronavirus in Union County and in accord with the recommendations and guidelines initiated by our county government, the Leadership Board and I have decided to suspend our in-person worship. Please be assured that this decision was not an easy one to make, however, it is our responsibility to rethink “in person” church services in light of our growing concerns as we safeguard our church members and friends.
As many of you know, upon my arrival to Lewisburg, I quickly acted to produce online Sunday messages in lieu of corporate worship in an attempt to provide some form of worship for our members and friends. During this pause in worshiping together, we will work to improve and expand our virtual presences in hopes of expanding our outreach during and beyond this time. I think we would all agree that there is something very moving when we are singing, praying, laughing and crying together.
Some folks might be disappointed in this decision to cancel further worship gatherings until the virus abates our county. The Leadership board and I feel this disappointment and anguish with you. It is our hope that we can re-engage our at-church service as circumstances allow but with most recent developments and recommendations compelling us to resume virtual, online services we hope you will join us there. Please know that I will remain available to you by phone, Zoom, or in person as your needs dictate.
With love and appreciation,
Leah Williams, Pastor
